Japan Parliament approved casino legalization draft law in the country despite the attempts of the opposition parties to interrupt the voting.
Casino legalization draft law was approved by the Japan Parliament in the last session of the day. The Liberal Democratic Party fully supported the draft, while the Communist, Democratic, Liberal and Social Democratic Party opposed.
According to a public survey, only 12% of the population support casino legalization initiative in the country. 44% of respondents opposed, 34% deterred, according to Focus Gaming News.
However, the country’s government is confident that the casino legalization will become an essential driver for domestic tourism development and make Japan more attractive for foreign tourists. Casino will play an important role in the Government’s strategy implementation. According to it, Japan will be attended by more than 40 million tourists annually by 2020.
