The former Manchester City head coach Manuel Pellegrini supported the team’s goalkeeper Claudio Bravo.
The Citizens got the 33-year-old Bravo after his compatriot’s departure as a head coach, but he rose to support him.
«Claudio is criticized a lot, but he is the best goalkeeper in the world” – Manchester Evening News quotes Pellegrini.
In the debut match against Manchester United (2:1) he made a mistake that resulted in a goal. He earned a red card in the Champions League match against Barcelona (0:4) for playing out of penalty area. In general, he is not acting the best way at the moment, especially in the terms of co-operation with the defenders.
«The English press is too hard on him, as well as it is to the entire world. If he moved from Real Sociedad first to Barcelona and then to Manchester City, it is only because he is the best goalkeeper in the world».
Let us recall that Claudio Bravo moved to Manchester City from Barcelona this summer. Later on, the new head coach Josep Guardiola decided to bet on him instead of the long-term team’s number one Joe Hart. As a result, he was sent to Torino.
The other day the Spanish mentor did not support the criticism of his player again. Pep noted that Bravo still needed to get used to the English rules.
