Tottenham intends to discuss terms of the new contract with the defender Toby Alderweireld in the nearest future, informs Sky Sports.
Two sides will negotiate as soon as the Alderweireld gains his form and returns to the Spurs’ first team.
Toby moved to Tottenham from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2015 for 16 million euro. After having signed a five-year contract with the club.
In the current season Alderweireld had played 10 matches before he was injured. It was in the match against West Bromwich on October, 15.
The Belgian hasn’t been playing for almost two months because of the injury. Finally, he has recovered and might even get playing time in some of the Champions League match.
The Spurs continue their work on updating the agreements with the basic players. The club has already re-signed contracts with Harry Kane, Jan Vertonghen, Christian Eriksen, Kyle Walker, Eric Dier, Danny Rose and Dele Alli.
